About Wellington Convention Centre
The former Wellington, New Zealand, Convention Centre is now called Positively Wellington. Positively Wellington is a conglomeration of separate buildings: Michael Fowler Centre, which has an auditorium; historic Wellington Town Hall; St. James Theatre; the Opera House and TSB Bank Arena. Its motto is "Where grow business meets show business," referring to its dual focuses on performing arts and commercial and trade events.
Locations are near the waterfront on Queens Wharf. A dozen hotels are in the area, from the James Cook Grand Chancellor to the Museum Hotel and the Copthorne Oriental Bay. Lonely Planet called Wellington "the coolest little capital in the world," with many sights worth seeing.
