The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is positioned in the heart of Washington, D.C., located near Mount Vernon Square. Highlighting over two million square-feet of usable space, this convention center was established in 2003. The The Walter E. Washington Convention Center was designed by an Atlanta based architects, Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates. It is easily accessed via the Washington, D.C. Green and Yellow metro lines.

In 2005, two-thirds of the inauguration balls for George W. Bush were hosted at Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The original Neighborhood Ball, in celebration of the newly elected President Barack Obama, was held at this conventions center. The Walter E. Washington Convention Center was named in 2006 after a well-loved Washington D.C.'s politician, noted for being the first home rule mayor of the city.

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center replaced the original Washington, D.C. Convention Center, which was imploded at the end of 2004.
