The Mystery Dinner Playhouse

Located only a few blocks from the convention center, the Mystery Dinner Playhouse is popular for both the quality of its food and the entertainment. During the four-course meal, the Playhouse's staff of actors will enact a murder mystery for you to solve.

The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art

Unlike most art museums, the MOCA doesn't have a permanent collection. Instead, it serves as a gallery for a rotating selection of some of the best artists currently active. It also hosts plays and readings and offers art classes.

The Cavalier Golf Course

The Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club is a private country club not far from the center. If you're lucky enough to make the acquaintance of a member, the club's golf course is a golfer's dream, immaculately maintained with amazing views of the ocean.

The Virginia Beach Boardwalk

The convention center is only about a quarter mile from the beach, and a walk along the boardwalk is a must for any visitor to the city. Lined with hotels, restaurants, and bars, the boardwalk is also a Mecca for bikers and skaters. Just off the boardwalk, this amusement park may not rival the huge theme parks in Williamsburg, but the rides and games are a fun way to spend an afternoon. The area also includes an ocean fishing pier where anglers can try their luck.

The Little Theatre of Virginia Beach

Not far from the convention center, the Little Theatre of Virginia Beach has been putting on shows since 1948. It offers a full schedule of musicals, comedies, and dramas, ranging from old favorites to more recent Broadway hits.
