About San Diego Convention Center

San Diego Convention Center

The modern San Diego Convention Center has a waterfront view. Located in the Marina district in the heart of the city, this hall provides over 57,000 square meters of space on West Harbor Drive. The largest facility for conferences and other events in San Diego, the complex was built in the late 1980s.

The Arthur Erickson of Canada was the structure's architect. The Sails Pavilion is surrounded in glass so that assemblies are not exposed to inclement weather. Especially notable are the eye-catching rooftop sail features of the Pavilion. The sails are made from fiberglass covered with Teflon, and they are intended to honor San Diego's nautical heritage.
