Oregon Museum of Science and Industry:

This museum is one of Portland's greatest attractions and manages to capture the minds and imaginations of visitors. Many of the exhibits are hands on and beloved by adults and children alike. The emphasis of the museum is on modern advances in technology as well as the various sciences. Along with the standard displays and exhibits guests to the space will find an IMAX theater and a large planetarium. Just outside the entrance of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is the USS Blueback, a Navy submarine that is a part of the museum itself.

Portland Underground:

This unique attraction is a creative way to explore the lesser known aspects of Oregon's largest city. A series of interlinking tunnels create an extensive network underneath the most popular restaurants and historical landmarks in the older historical district of town. Tours give visitors the chance to walk through the tunnels is a fascinating historical reenactment.

Washington Park:

This public space occupies over one hundred acres right in the heart of Portland. While it is a popular space for residents to simply relax and enjoy nature, it is also home to several attractions worth a visit for tourists to the area. Be sure to stop in at the Oregon Zoo which is situated within Washington Park. It boasts a number of local animals as well as some from Africa that are sure to delight children. Next door to the Oregon Zoo is the famed Portland Children's Museum that features exhibits about the history of the city that are child friendly. Also within the park are landmarks like the beautiful International Rose Test Gardens, the World Forestry Center Discovery Museum and several statues and memorials.

Pioneer Square:

Those looking to embrace the more cultural side of Portland should be sure to visit Pioneer Square. This public plaza is located within the Downtown district of Portland, Oregon. It is where many independent local restaurants, shops and other businesses have set up their companies. Pioneer Square is also adjacent to the popular Tom McCall Waterfront Park which stretches along the river and offers up the perfect place to ride bikes, walk, jog or just take in the natural scenic beauty of the area.
